Death of Run Run Shaw

Run Run Shaw, the movie and T.V. mogul of Hong Kong has passed. He had a long (107 years) and good life.Without him (Shaw Brothers and H.K.T.V.B.), there would be no big stars and directors like Jackie Chan, Chow Yun-Fat, Andy Lau (Tak Wah), John Woo, Wong Ka Wai, Quentin Tarantino etc. etc. The one he missed out big was Bruce Lee, who signed up with Raymond Chow instead. He was knighted by the Queen. RIP Sir Run Run Shaw, you had a good Run in Life !

Back to the Future

Just finished watching an old, yet timeless, movie 'Back to the Future' on T.V. It gave me a strange but wonderful feeling of 'Back to the Future' when it was over, 'cause I met Michael J. Fox in real life more than 20 years ago, and now it is 2013.A few funny scenes made me laugh so much :)

American News

It is true. There are many T.V. and radio talking heads in USA who wear the label of being a journalist or news reporter, but they don't really report news. They tend to dramatize, moralize, sensationalize or humorize events.

In addition to watching news on mainstream American T.V. channels, Americans should also watch other T.V. news and news on the internet, in order to get some non-American viewpoints, and to have a better understanding about the fast-changing world we live in today.

In brief, Hollywood is not the world. Washington is not the world. America is not the whole world. In terms of world population, U.S.A. is only 5% of the world.
