Religion Is A Brainwashing Tool.

Religion is a brainwashing tool to control people. In the name of God, bad people committed all kinds of evils and had them justified. There has never been any holy war, holy murder, holy genocide. You can call anything holy, but this does not necessarily make it holy.

Edi Lee for Peace     *****    Fast Edi Thoughts and Comments.

O Canada

It is not the first time that Canadians take issue about their national anthem.I remember that Canada's men and women hockey teams both won gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Sidney Crosby's overtime winning score turned the whole country of Canada into a frenzy. It created some wonderful nationalistic feelings spontaneously. Everyone, even non-Canadians, got caught in the Canadian pride and excitement. Many joined in singing O Canada.
............................................................................................
Recently, O Canada became Ouch Canada again. The same old question resurfaced: should O Canada be changed to be gender-neutral ? A few prominent Canadian women, including Kim Campbell and Margaret Atwood said yes.
............................................................................................
There are 3 ouches in O Canada. The first ouch is that some women are upset about the line 'in all thy sons command'. This is sexist, they complain. Some suggest that it should revert to the old version of 'thou dost in us command'. Others suggest the change to 'in all of us command'. Yet some women say it is just fine to keep 'in all thy sons command' with no change. This is my opinion: 'thou dost in us command' is old English. It just doesn't sound right for our time. The words do not sound good for singing either. 'In all of us command' is O.K., but for singing, it doesn't sound as good as 'in all thy sons command'. My suggestion is this: change the words to 'in you and I command'.
.............................................................................................
The second ouch is 'our home and native land'. What does the word 'native' mean? Often when we see the word 'native', we think of the native people of Canada. The native people are the aboriginal or indigenous people. But then the people who were born in Canada are also natives of the land. Furthermore, this land or country called Canada belongs to all Canadians, not just the natives or native-born.Canada also belongs to the many immigrants from different backgrounds who chose to become Canadians. So what are we going to do with 'our home and native land'? I have a suggestion: just change it to 'our home Canadian land'. The meaning is appropriate, and it sounds good for singing.
...........................................................................................
The third ouch is 'God keep our land, Glorious and Free'. Canada is a free country. People belong to different religions and faith groups. The problem is that people believe in different gods, so which god or gods keep our land? Besides, there are agnostics and atheists, too. Canada belongs to all Canadians, whether you believe in a god or not. I suggest to simply drop this line of 'God keep our land' and replace it with 'O Canada'. 'O Canada, Glorious and Free' sounds very good, do you agree ?
...........................................................................................
Maybe the Government of Canada can hold a contest across the country, to come up with the best new version of O Canada, otherwise we have to keep living with the 3 existing ouches !

Sandy and God

There is no all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful God. Again and again, Sandy the storm and such natural disasters prove it to be so. If God created many such a disaster and allowed it to happen, by a so-called act of God, then he is not loving at all. If something else (nature) or somebody else (so-called devil) created such disasters, and God just took a back seat and didn't do anything about it,then he is not loving and powerful. It is more reasonable to think that if a supernatural God ever exists, he is not all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful. He is heartless and crazy. He is less powerful than the mighty force of nature. Dear East Coast friends, please don't panic. Please take real action to protect yourself, not just pray. Be safe.Take care !!!

Popemobile

Why does the Pope stay in his Popemobile with a bullet-proof glass enclosure ? Why doesn't he come out ? Where is his faith in 'god ' for protection ? Please think about this.

Is God a Snail ?

After many years of diligent studies, observations and personal experiences, I have come to the conclusion that there is no supernatural God at all.

This so-called almighty God is supposed to be all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful. If there is such a supreme being, then he indeed deserves our utmost admiration and worship, but if he does not exist, then why live a lie ?

Let's look at just one example, to answer the question on whether this so-called almighty God is all-powerful or not. Some fundamental Christians insist that the Bible is the words of God, who created the world in 6 days. Some theologians, biblical scholars and Christian experts explain that one day is 1000 years to God, so God completed his creation of the world in 6000 years.

Our computers can solve billions of operations in only one second. If it took God 6000 years to create the world, it was way too slow. Even if it were 6 human days, it was still way too slow. Is God a snail?

Advanced extraterrestrials exist, but a supernatural God doesn't.

Baby, Doc and God

There are always people who are against the progress of science, typically very religious people. Fortunately, most are not extremists and have not lost all their senses, so when they are sick, they still choose to see a doctor, instead of praying to god for cure.

Infertile people who want a child should adopt one, or see a doctor and fertility expert, to create a baby through science, not praying or expecting a miracle to happen.

Perfection

Perfection is a myth. Nothing is perfect, which would leave no room for creativity, imagination, improvement and change.

One could be perfect at one point of time, at certain location, doing certain thing, but it is impossible to be perfect all the time and everywhere doing all kinds of different things. This simple truth tells me that there is no supernatural God, who is supposed to be perfect, all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful.

War

It was probably a lie, if you were told that the wars were about god, religion, democracy, this and that, but had nothing to do with money, power and oil. Many so-called peace makers in this world were rather trouble makers, killers, money and power hungry go-getters and schemers. War is the worst kind of organized crime still being committed by the technologically advanced, but spiritually primitive humans.

In God We Trust

Didn't I tell you that to some people, GOD means Gun, Oil and Drug ? Indeed the " GOD-believers" made huge profits selling those 3 things. Now you know the true meaning of "In God We trust" uttered by those people !!!

Infinite Time and Space

By all means look for the next door, but stop searching for the first or last door, and you will gain wisdom and peace.

There is no beginning and no end. Time and Space are the same piece of gum, however you chew it, which is infinite !

As Carl Sagan suggested, instead of believing in god or gods, why not save a step and accept that this universe has always existed.

God believers are like children watching a magic show, believing that something came from nothing and appeared from nowhere, which could not be the real truth. Something would not have come from nothing. Even the magician was also something, who could not have come from nothing.

GOD means Gun, Oil and Drug

In the news, 1 out of 4 homeowners and renters in U.S.A. are late in mortgage or rental payments. America, America, what have you done ? Where is this God who is supposed to bless America ? The truth is that there is no God who bless America or any country. The mess in this world was rather created by the humans themselves. GOD to some people means Gun,Oil and Drug.
