China and World Economy

In the news, the Chinese economy now accounts for 15% of the world's total, and contributed 33% to the global economic growth in 2016. That's according to He Lifeng, director of the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner. May China and the World continue to cooperate, develop and prosper. Peace !

Trump Reality Show

With Donald Trump being the President of the United States (POTUS), the whole country has become a dramatic reality show in real life, not just on T.V. Do you agree that the United States is not a very united country at the present? Do you agree that the people in power and out of power, the elites, the common people and the media in the U.S. have all become very divisive? How can the United States of America be great again if it continues to be so divisive? Something serious to think about.

Trans Pacific Partnership (3)

I wrote about the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) on August 1 and October 5 of 2015. These are my TPP3 thoughts and comments: ..................................................................................................... There are economists who said the TPP is a good thing for the joining nation members, while others said no, it is good only to the global investors and corporations, but not to the domestic workers and common people. ....................................................................................................... Since Donald Trump became the U.S. President, he has signed a presidential memorandum to withdraw from the TPP. Without the U.S., can the TPP still go ahead and get rectified by the rest of joining nations? What is the value or usefulness of a TPP without the U.S.? Would it survive or even work ? ........................................................................................................ Looks like China continues to promote global free trade, while the U.S. under the Trump administration now goes backward for protectionism. Trump's withdrawal from the TPP is creating an economic and geopolitical vacuum which would be filled by China, making China's rise even faster and economically more powerful, especially in Asia Pacific. ...................................................................................................... Trump said he is not against free trade. He is against unfair trade. My interpretation is this: as along as America is winning, free trade is fair. If America is losing, then free trade becomes unfair. Winning is fair, losing is unfair. Can we call that the Trump Doctrine?

Will Hillary Go To Jail?

Some Americans still shouted "Lock her up" and wanted to see Hillary Clinton go to jail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think Hillary will go to prison. The justice system in the U.S. treats different people differently. Hillary is guilty but she won't be indicted. Even if she was charged and formally found guilty, she would be pardoned or at the worst put to house arrest only. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rumor said she has already transferred millions of dollars out of the country to Qatar. She would just run away to escape it all and lead a good life still in another country. I would be really surprised if she went to jail.

Square Table Math

Say you saw off one corner of a square table. Traditional calculation will say 4-1 = 3. Now the table has only 3 corners left. But look carefully: 4-1 = 5. You actually have 5 corners. Now look at the cut-off piece. It has 3 corners. So 4-1 = 8. You now have 8 corners. _______________________________________________ The truth is this: you can neither increase nor decrease something, but everything keeps changing and transforming themselves.
