Changing World

The world is changing bigly and fast. World politics and economics are like a complicated chess game with the four major players of USA, China, Russia and the European Union (EU), but mainly it is the US trying by all means to slow down the rise of China and to maintain its hegemonic position in the world. In that sense, the US is not only against China and Russia, but also the EU and the whole world.

The Ukraine War is not only a war between Ukraine and Russia. It is rather a US' proxy war against Russia. Ukraine is a weak link being played more than being a strong player itself. Affected by the Ukraine war, Europe so far appears to be a loser and cannot afford to "obey" Uncle Sam to completely cut economic ties with China.

While the US brought many years of wars and destruction to the Middle East, China has just brokered a peace deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran. It appears that the Middle East is leaving the US for China. No more wars and destruction. It wants peace and development.

Africa pretty much has been won by China. Except Canada, Central and South America, and Mexico, all seem to look to China and the East.

Asia is booming economically and doesn't want war. It wants peace and stability. Yet, the US has been playing the Taiwan card, to stir up conflicts between China and Taiwan. After Ukraine, another provocation to push the People's Republic of China (PRC) into taking military action, the un-given-up last option, to unify Taiwan, the Republic of China (ROC)? It is also a profiteering opportunity for the US to sell arms and weapons to the pro-independence Taiwanese Government.

The weaponization of the US Dollar by Uncle Sam has scared off many countries. De-dollarization is picking up in speed. A long line-up of countries want to join the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

The declining US can no longer be the hegemon of our becoming multi-polar world. It is just too late to make America great again.

Pelosi's Visit to Taiwan

Nancy Pelosi's sneaky visit to Taiwan was a stupid, self-glorifying and irresponsible chess move that benefits no one and endangers everyone. She openly called Taiwan a country, which is historically, factually and legally untrue. Taiwan is a part of China.

The Chinese Government was super smart and a great chess player. It did not take the bait and shoot down Pelosi's plane as wished by many angry Chinese, possibly even a few Republican Americans.  Instead, the Chinese Government let Pelosi go to Taiwan and leave safely and then took countermeasures, including a three days' military exercise that effectively created a blockade and encirclement of Taiwan.

Pelosi and her immediate family have been sanctioned by the Chinese Government. Hundreds of Taiwanese products for export to China have been banned from entering. Also the Chinese Government has suspended or stopped cooperating with the United States in eight different areas. US / China relations would not improve any time soon.

Pelosi's sneaky trip to Taiwan grossly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of  China. She not only stepped on the red line; she crossed it. She has opened a door for China to expedite the unification with Taiwan. Seeking Taiwan independence by the separatists is not only the wrong choice; it is a stupid choice. It is a self-defeating game and a road to death.

USA, Canada and Winter Olympics 2022

More than 80% exports of Canada go to the U.S. and 70% of imports to Canada come from the U.S.  Canada is never fully 'independent' politically, economically, militarily and diplomatically. Uncle Sam is the big brother neighbor of Canada.

When Uncle Sam blew the anti-China whistle, would Canada dare to not 'obey' and stand on the U.S.' side?

This so-called diplomatic boycott led by the US against the upcoming Winter Olympics is a political demonization and smearing  against China using the same old lies, fabrication and accusation of China's failure in the US-defined human rights, freedom and democracy.

Only 20 countries at the UN followed the US' political stand against China. 173 countries supported China and the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.

So much political BS in this world !  I support all the athletes from China, Canada, the US and everywhere.  Peace!

Political Storm in Hong Kong

The so-called Pro-Democracy Movement (PDM) in Hong Kong was rather a Pro-Destruction Movement (PDM).

Hong Kong had been a British Crown Colony for 156 years. It was a fact that during the whole 156 year British colonial rule, there was no democracy. The Governor was always a British official sent by Britain to govern the Chinese in Hong Kong. Senior officials were also hired by appointment. Government leaders were not elected.

Since the handover back to Chinese rule in 1997, there was more democracy in Hong Kong under a One Country Two Systems model of governance.  From a British Crown Colony, it has become a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The separatists, backed by the anti-China forces led by the United States of America, tried to change the One Country Two Systems into Two Countries Two Systems. It goes without saying that the PRC would not allow this to happen. An independent Hong Kong? No way!

The post of Chief Executive of Hong Kong after the handover in 1997 is an important political position, not a civil service administrator's position. Chief Executive Carrie Lam is not a mediocre leader. She has rich experience working as a senior civil servant, but in the early years of her tenure, she lacked political skills and experience. To be a political leader, one must not only have the ability to manage public affairs, but also have political wisdom. It is not easy to use power properly and timingly to deal with upper, lower, internal and external forces.

The black riots broke out in 2019 were not ordinary riots. They were political riots. It was a color revolution. It was indeed not easy to be the Chief Executive of Hong Kong in such an environment. Without the National Security Law, how could it be effective in stopping the violence and controlling the chaos? Hong Kong was almost destroyed by the 'Anti-China and mess-up-Hong Kong' forces. Indeed, it was the National Security Law that helped save the city.

Hong Kong's anti-China yellow-rioters and black-terror activists blindly worship Uncle Sam. They don't know what American-styled democracy really is. American-styled democracy is not one person one vote; it is rather one dollar
one vote. It is a big game of money and power. Politicians do not work for the welfare of the whole country and the common people, but for their own self-interests. They serve the rich and powerful donors. They work for the Deep State of America. American Democracy is a Plutocracy. It is the Oligarch's game.

Hong Kong is a very unique place. No matter from what angle one looks at it, no matter what one's ideal, fantasy or wishful thinking is for independence, it cannot change the reality of Hong Kong. What reality? It is the fact that Hong Kong is part of China, and the British colonial rule of Hong Kong has become history.

To wear or not to wear?

To wear or not to wear? That's the question in fighting the Corona virus. Not only an issue of wearing a mask or not, just about any issue big or small would provoke American fights and arguments. ___________________________________________________ This used-to-be great country called the 'United' States of America has become very 'divisive'. It is no longer united. No thanks to Trump and his gangster-like but worse administration, America is not becoming great again. Instead, Trump is quickening the decline and possible collapse of the US of A. Trump is not making America great again. He with his China-bashing team has been trying to stop or slow down China's becoming great again. ___________________________________________________ Not only has the US become very divisive and unstable, so has the world. Whether you are in America or not, tough time is lying ahead. Take care! ___________________________________________________ Edi Lee for Peace *** Fast Edi Thoughts and Comments

No Trade War

China and the Unites States say that they will not engage in a trade war. This is good for both countries and the world.

Trump Reality Show

With Donald Trump being the President of the United States (POTUS), the whole country has become a dramatic reality show in real life, not just on T.V. Do you agree that the United States is not a very united country at the present? Do you agree that the people in power and out of power, the elites, the common people and the media in the U.S. have all become very divisive? How can the United States of America be great again if it continues to be so divisive? Something serious to think about.

The Trump Tsai Phone Conversation

In the news, Tsai Ing-wen, the pro-independence president of Taiwan had a phone conversation with Donald Trump, the president elect of the United States of America. Needless to say, it has stirred up much controversy and debate in the world. My opinion is that president Tsai is playing a dangerous game. The chance that she'll win and make Taiwan separate from China and become truly independent is 1%. The chance that she'll lose is 99%. Nobody can change the One China reality, not Taiwan, not the U.S., not the U.N. where China has the veto power in the Security Council Permanent Membership. In any case, I'm all for peace. No violence, No killing, No war !

President Trump

As I predicted, Donald Trump has won. He will be the next President of the United States of America. The American people have spoken.

Trump or Clinton - Who Is Worse?

I don't take side with Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Neither is a good candidate. Anyway, I am a Canadian, so I can't even vote. But here is the truth: private women talks about men are not always super clean either.

Trump is a man of bad words, but Clinton is a woman of bad actions. Trump's bad words didn't cause any death, but Clinton's bad actions (for example in Iraq, Libya and other places) did cause the death of many. If I were American, I would vote Bernie Sanders. Unfortunately, he was forced out by the powerful Clinton force and NDC.

It is a sad political situation in America, that you don't try to choose who is better, but to avoid who is worse. Who is worse? You decide. Good luck !

Obama in Canada

I watched U.S. President Obama give a speech in the Parliament of Canada. I must say that he is a great speaker. In musical terms, the analogy is that he is a great singer. Whether you give him a good song to sing or not, he can still deliver a great performance. That said, how many listeners ever try to analyze the lyrics of a song and see what it says? And whether the singer actually does what he or she sings?

I agree that the U.S., Canada and Mexico, actually the whole world should reduce the use of fossil fuels for energy, and switch to using clean, green and renewable energy.

I disagree with Obama that he said gender equality is a universal value. I mean it 'should be' a universal value, but it is not. Many countries are still very backwards, ultra-conservative and unfair. They are still very misogynistic and discriminatory against women. Look at Saudi Arabia. If you are a woman, you are not even allowed to drive there.

Regarding the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), I have talked about it before. Of course, Obama was trying to get Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada to come on side and have the TPP signed and rectified. Is the TPP good or bad for the U.S. and Canada? It depends who you are and whom you ask. If you are interested, you can read what I wrote about the TPP on August 1 and October 5, 2015 in my blog Fast Edi Thoughts and Comments.

Regarding global disputes and conflicts, I'm not sure Obama really meant what he said. Certainly every peace-loving person would choose to resolve such serious problems diplomatically and politically, not militarily. But the U.S. military actions everywhere in the world, and the ' let's drop a bomb ' U.S. foreign policy, just don't concur with what Obama said.

I would like to ask this question: when will Washington (and the world) learn that violence is a problem, not a solution? Being a pacifist, my position is that all disputes and conflicts must be negotiated and settled through peaceful means. No violence, No killing, No war. Thank you.

Political Talk For Peace

Talking about politics day after day has made me tired. I joined in the discussions because I didn't like people who promote war and resist peace for solutions. I found the need to share and support the pacifists' solution and reject the warriors' solution.

I was talking in Youtube with others about the South China Sea conflicts and disputes. There was a Vietnamese guy who insisted on going to war with China, refusing to even accept his own prime minister's position for peace. He wanted the U.S. and Vietnam go to war with China. So much anger, negative emotion and foul language from this man! I told him I didn't take side with one country against another. I said I only took side with peace.

When shall we have lasting peace in this troubled world?

Donald Trump is Winning

Ted Cruz has dropped out after Donald Trump won the Republican primary in Indiana.

This is my guess only. I could be wrong:

If it is Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton, Donald will win.

If it is Donald Trump vs Bernie Sanders, Bernie will win.

Interesting time in America !

Chris Christie for Vice President?

It was painful to watch Chris Christie stand quietly behind Donald Trump like a little school boy being punished. It just didn't look right. It looked really bad. In spite of Chris Christie 's pro-Trump endorsement, Donald told him to go home.

Chris Christie has completely lost his integrity and credibility. I should say that he gave it all up himself, but for what? To dream of becoming vice-president? What a big embarrassment to the people of New Jersey!

NGO Spying

In the news, the Pentagon allegedly used a Christian Non Governmental Organization (NGO) as a front to spy on North Korea.

My thoughts and comments:

It is nothing new that the U.S. would use Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) to spy on other countries. When it comes to spying, no country (especially the big powers) is ever a pure angel. They are all spying devils. Today, the governments spy on both friends and foes, and everyone, even their own citizens. So this is the world we are living in today !!!

The Truth of Nine One One

Today is the 14th anniversary of 911. Do you believe the U.S. Government told the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth? If you do, you are a sheep. If you don't, you are not crazy. Do some studies. Don't be lazy !!!

Refugees

Refugees arriving in Munich were met by welcoming crowds.Thumbs Up to Angela Merkel of Germany. Sorry but Thumbs Down to Stephen Harper of Canada.

Dear Prime Minister Harper, you said the root cause of the refugees was ISIS. No, please look back, way back, before ISIS came to existence. The root cause was Uncle Sam's Militarism and Interventionism, in meddling around with the affairs of other countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and more. You broke the vase, or helped break the vase, so you own it. There is no excuse not to fix it. Even if you think you did not break the vase, you must still help the refugees. Why? Many reasons, but here is one simple reason: because we are Canadians, and you are the Prime Minister of Canada.

Korea (2)

Early this year, on January 13, 2015, I wrote about the two Koreas showing hints that they were willing to talk, which I supported. Now North Korea accuses South Korea of political and military provocation and threatens to risk an ' all out war '. The U.S. then halts military exercise with South Korea.

Dear Uncle Sam and Korean people of the North and South, please don't play chicken. One miscalculation could lead to irreversible disaster. No war in the Korean Peninsula ! No war period !

A Canadian Korean friend told me that this is the way the game is played:

North Korea under the dictatorial leadership of Kim Jong Un would threaten to go to war with South Korea. Rich corporations of South Korea then made big donations to North Korea, which enabled them to pay less tax to the South Korean Government. The leadership in the North got what they wanted, and the leadership in the South stayed in power. If the US or UN would bomb North Korea, then the ' Mafia Bill ' from North Korea would be even bigger.

Money and Power Games everywhere, only played in different ways. Peace !

Please Shake Hands

Chinese President Xi Jinping met US Secretary of State John Kerry in Beijing. Both looked relaxed and shook hands.

Shaking Hands is always better than Shooting Bullets and Dropping Bombs. When is Obama going to shake hands with Putin? I hope soon !!!

Could China Kill The US Dollar ?

I've just finished watching a Youtube video titled 'Could China Kill The US Dollar?' Here are my thoughts and comments:

My personal opinion is that China could indeed kill the US Dollar, but she would do so only gradually, not suddenly. She has been doing so slowly, but picking up speed recently, as evidenced by the newly formed China-led Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), increase of gold production and purchase, and bi-lateral agreements signed with many countries in using their own currencies for trading, bypassing the use of US Dollar.

The HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation) is a British Bank with a deep Chinese root. Both UK and Hong Kong are HSBC's 'home markets'. HSBC is thinking of moving its headquarters from London to Hong Kong. The UK was the first Western country and US ally that joined the China-led AIIB, followed by many others. Uncle Sam was not pleased.

I don't think China really wants to kill the US Dollar completely. China just wants to de-dollarize the world. China, Russia, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, even Europe and the World, just don't want to be completely dominated by the US any more. No more unipolar world controlled by big-boss America !

There are many speculations or predictions that the US Dollar will collapse, but my guess is that it will not die with a big bang but with a whimper. China is killing the US Dollar softy with her Yuan (Chinese Dollar), also known as Renminbi (People's money).

Some Americans are super wealthy, but as a whole, the US as a country is broke, owing trillions of dollars to China, Japan and other countries. The 1% is still doing great of course, but the 99% is struggling. Does Uncle Sam still want to go to war, which is a super expensive, terrifying and deadly game, profitable only to a few people, but at the expense of the life and death of many ?

The US Dollar may not even die, but it will no longer be the only dominant trading and reserve currency of the world. China's rise is certain, but the US' decline is not. Instead of setting road blocks and preventing China from rising, Uncle Sam should pay attention to his own many problems. As Jimmy Carter said, the U.S. must respect China, and vice versa. If a nuclear Third World War breaks out, the whole world will be finished. We must never let that happen.
