Harambe

By now, you have probably watched the news that in the Cincinnati Zoo, a boy fell into the enclosure where Harambe, a big gorilla, was shot dead.

These are my thoughts and comments:

I love animals. Maybe animals like Harambe should be left in the natural habitat. Maybe the boy's mother was negligent and did not watch him well enough. Maybe the zoo did not provide good security to prevent such accident from happening. Maybe the 400 lb gorilla would not hurt the boy. All maybes!

But it was not a maybe that the boy was in real danger. Whether Harambe intended to hurt the boy or not, the boy could be killed by the strong and massive animal. I'm biased. I value human life more than an animal's life, although I love both humans and animals.

I'm of the opinion that the zoo did the right thing in shooting the gorilla dead and let the boy live.

What is Success in Life?

A friend posted 11 rules, or life lessons, according to Bill Gates in Facebook.

My thoughts and comments:

What Bill Gates said is generally true but not absolutely true. Rule #11 is sort of funny. It says if you born poor, it's not your mistake. But if you die poor, it is your mistake.  

Have you heard of this Chinese saying? What a person's life is like, or whether it will be successful or not, depends on these 5 determining factors: birth, luck, feng shui, karma (charitable work or helping others) and education.

Indeed life is not fair. Only death is fair (everybody dies). If you were born to poor parents in a poor and backward country, you would face much greater challenge in life. If you were born to rich parents in an advanced country, you would gain much advantage to succeed in life. Still, Bill Gates' advice or life lessons are good references to think about.

My philosophy is that whatever card life gave you at the beginning, you just have to play the game the best you can. Got an Ace? Good for you. Got a 5 only? You still have to play the game and never give up.

What is success in life? There are so many different definitions. To most people, it means money, power and fame. To some spiritual people, it simply means health and happiness. To me, success in life is not about money and material possessions. Peace !

Canada and Miserable Humans

Canada may not be as neutral and peaceful as you think. It is only a joke that everything is made in China. Canada creates not only syrup and hockey stars. It also creates weapons and killing machines for profits. War is an extremely profitable business that Canada has now got itself into.

Forgive my cynicism about Canada's foreign policy, which now largely follows that of Uncle Sam. Let's talk policy is no more. Let's drop a bomb has become a life-killing but money-making policy. Diplomacy doesn't pay. Destruction does. Miserable humans !!!

Israel and Palestine

The conflict between Israel and Palestine is the most difficult problem to solve today. Whoever can stop all the violence and killings and bring real peace truly deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. "Uncivilized" humans still keep killing one another, very bad and sad !!!

Incompetent World Leaders

Our world leaders are very good in making wars and troubles, but are very incompetent in making peace. They have very little or no spiritual I.Q. (a term I coined). Instead of talking to one another to find peaceful solutions, they keep screwing one another. They don't work well with one another, but repeatedly work against one another like different gangs, always fighting for control and influence in different territories, even in distant lands far away from home. 

War is an evil, the worst kind of organized crime. War is an extremely profitable business to a few people, but sadly, at the expense of many peoples' life and death. Only love and universal brotherhood can save this world and bring peace. Did you notice that when our world leaders said they were going to bring peace, they were rather making even more wars? This world is a big mess !!!

Disrespect

They celebrated your birth. They mourned your death. In between, they treated you like a speck of dust.

Privatized Prison and Army

The prison industry in the United States: big business or a new form of slavery. No other society in human history has imprisoned so many of its own citizens.

My thoughts and comments:

The main objective of doing business is to make money and profits. Privatized prison system needs tenants / prisoners to keep the cells occupied. It keeps the very profitable business going. Even judges are played into this unjust game by passing severe long-term jail sentence on petty crimes like possession of weed. Privatized army also sucks, but war is an extremely profitable business, so the military industrial complex is happy to see or stir up troubles everywhere and anywhere. So very sick and selfish profiteering at the expense of people's life and death !!!!!

Life is a Moving Train

Life is a moving train. No matter which train you are on, it will sooner or later crash, and you will die. Meanwhile, please enjoy the ride !

Money and War

Make money, not war.
But don 't make war in order to make money, which is the most deadly and dishonorable thing to do.

Remembrance Day

Sorry, I just can't say Happy Remembrance Day to you on Remembrance Day. Can't think of anything to be happy about wars. I am not wearing a red poppy. I see blood in red. But I support those who are wearing a white poppy of peace. Kill all wars, not people.

Death Penalty

There are many good reasons that the death penalty is wrong. One simple reason is that humans can make mistakes. This includes everyone: the lawyers, judges, jury, witnesses, scientists, police, everyone. If an innocent person were killed by mistake, then it was a murder by itself. Then, who should pay for that mistake by death ? If the humans want to become truly advanced and civilized, they must stop all wars and the death penalty !!!

Hillary on Gaddafi's Death

We must never laugh at the death of a human being. So sad, so bad, to see Hillary Clinton being so jubilant over the death of Gaddafi. " We came, we saw, he died." ? What about the question on who killed Gaddafi ? Could it be " You went, you knew, you killed." ?!

Rejoice

Rejoice, they are all dead and you are still alive !

Future

The argument about the future is rather futile, especially on a personal level. The future of every living human being is the same, which is DEATH. The big question is not about this life, but what will happen or not happen after our physical death. There are certainly many theories or propositions available for you to choose from. These theories and propositions came from many different sources, including philosophy, metaphysics, religion and science. It is up to yourself to pick the one that makes the most sense to you. You can even create your own theory and proposition. Meanwhile, before the future arrives, please enjoy your life, the here and now, and be very happy !!!

Don't Stop

The only true stop sign in life is death. Pause and make changes if necessary, but never come to a complete stop. Create another dream. Move on.

Religion

Religion is like wine. Abstinence will cause you no harm. Moderation may do some good to your health. Over consumption can lead to death, yours and others.

Iraq War

I am shocked by some people who still think that Bush and gang 'did the right thing', by invading Iraq as a response to 911.Committing a war crime, or doing something illegal,causing the death of thousands upon thousands of innocent people,could not be doing the right thing.

Emotionalism, nationalism, political bias, economic gains, access to oil,religious bullshit - all these cannot change the illegality of the Iraq War.It was, still is, definitely illegal.
