End of the World? Oh that was yesterday December 21, 2012! Mayan calendar,Christian rapture, blah blah blah! ************************************************************ How many times did people make predictions about the end of the world in the past? Many, but we are still alive today.All the predictions failed to come true.As recent as 1999,the Y2K prediction said that by January 1,2000, the entire computer networks in the world would crash.Only last year,California-based televangelist Harold Camping predicted that the world would end on May 21, 2011.Jesus Christ would return to Earth on that day and take the righteous ones with him and fly to heaven.Rapture did not happen, but rap music continued to thrive ************************************************************ What annoys me the most are those Christian pastors, evangelists,theologians and so-called biblical scholars,who confidently made such predictions,like Harold Camping did,only to make a fool out of themselves.Do they even know their own bible? In Matthew 24:36,it clearly states " but about that day or hour,no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the father." In the Christian faith,God is the father and Jesus is the son.The problem is that Jesus is supposed to be also God, so why only the father knows but not the son? Due to this awkwardness or unresolved conflict, some Christian manuscripts just deleted 'nor the son'. This made it sound like Jesus the son also knows, not just the father.However, it begs a further question "Does the holy ghost,the third person of God,also know?" ************************************************************* I have no prejudice against the Christians or anyone.I was a Christian myself.I left the religion but kept some of the good teachings of Jesus, like Love and Forgiveness.I have many Christian friends,and friends of other religions or with no religion.In regards to End of the World,I would rather listen to the Scientists and hear what they have to say.If the End of the World would happen soon,it would rather be due to our own making, like starting a nuclear world war and finishing it with death and destruction, or grossly keep abusing and destroying the environment and natural resources of Planet Earth our home.Beware, we could cause our own self-destruction! ************************************************************* Instead of worrying about the End of the World in real life, please go and watch that exciting disaster movie 2012 and listen to Skeeter Davis' beautiful song 'End of the World'. You would get a thrill from the movie,and be saddened by the song, but you will definitely come out well and alive.Enjoy!

Sandy and God

There is no all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful God. Again and again, Sandy the storm and such natural disasters prove it to be so. If God created many such a disaster and allowed it to happen, by a so-called act of God, then he is not loving at all. If something else (nature) or somebody else (so-called devil) created such disasters, and God just took a back seat and didn't do anything about it,then he is not loving and powerful. It is more reasonable to think that if a supernatural God ever exists, he is not all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful. He is heartless and crazy. He is less powerful than the mighty force of nature. Dear East Coast friends, please don't panic. Please take real action to protect yourself, not just pray. Be safe.Take care !!!

Sometimes I feel some uninvited moral pain, when I look at this troubled world. It has no true justice and fairness. Humans are technologically quite advanced but spiritually still so primitive. Approximately 950 million people or 14% of the world population suffer from hunger or undernourishment. Many simply do not have money to buy food. How can you live on an income of a dollar or two a day ? Yet, we have plenty of money to spend, to create bullets and bombs, and killing machines, to go to war and keep killing one another. Why don't we spend money on feeding the hungry and helping the poor instead ? Burn all the national flags. Everyone, let's create only one flag: EARTH.

Death Penalty

There are many good reasons that the death penalty is wrong. One simple reason is that humans can make mistakes. This includes everyone: the lawyers, judges, jury, witnesses, scientists, police, everyone. If an innocent person were killed by mistake, then it was a murder by itself. Then, who should pay for that mistake by death ? If the humans want to become truly advanced and civilized, they must stop all wars and the death penalty !!!

Julian Assange

Julian Assange is like David fighting Goliah. However you think of him, he is one man fighting against the whole wicked world. What wicked world ? The wicked world of corrupted governments, war criminals and all kinds of evil-doers.This is what he says,"If wars can be started by lies, then they can be stopped by truth". Julian Assange is the greatest whistle-blower of the century,if not of all time.It is ironical that the governments in the free world do not support freedom of speech, exposure of crimes, and telling the truth.It is like saying hey, by all means reveal as much dirt as you're pleased in this world, but not my dirt. ........................................................................................... Julian deeply embarrassed Uncle Sam, by exposing his collateral murder of innocent civilians in the Iraq War.It would be naive to believe that the U.S.Government is not trying to catch him, and then lock him up in perpetual detention or even kill him. Some American politicians and reporters in the media are so stupid, by accusing Julian of espionage and treason. What treason ? Julian is not an American.He is an Australian.Did he betray Australia? No. Did the Australian Government betray him ? Well, think for yourself. Why do you think he went to the Ecuador Embassy, and not the Australian embassy, to ask for political asylum ? Isn't it a fundamental duty of a country to protect its own citizens ? ........................................................................................... Although I don't know all the details, I can make an educated guess that Julian is not a rapist. Some reporters in the media are so stupid and dead wrong,in accusing Julian of being a rapist. If they wanted to use the word 'rape' or 'rapist', they should have put the word 'alleged' before it. A good legal principle is that one is innocent until proven guilty. Anyway, Julian has not been charged with rape or any crime. At this point, he is not a rapist. He is only wanted by Sweden for questioning, and the U.K. has agreed to extradite him to Sweden. This is something quite extraordinary, as Julian has not even been charged with any crime. I think Julian is right, in believing that if he is extradited to Sweden, then he will be further sent to U.S.A. ........................................................................................... If my memory is correct, at first the chief prosecutor in Sweden didn't even find any good reason or basis to charge Julian with sexual crime.It only happened later, that a new prosecutor entered the scene, and now Julian is wanted by Sweden.The allegation that he sexually assaulted two female ex-Wikileaks volunteers is a serious matter, but I smell something fishy here. Could this be a trap to catch Julian and then send him to Uncle Sam ? ........................................................................................... Julian is accused of not wearing a condom while having sex with an ex-Wikileaks volunteer. She said go wear a condom, but he didn't. They then had sex. Now, is this rape? Funny that Julian is not Catholic (is he ?), otherwise he can put all the blame on the Pope, who always says that thou shall not wear a condom! Sexual assault? Not wearing a condom ? Man, it sounds more like the Catholic priests who committed sexual crimes and hurt the innocent children. ........................................................................................... Consensual sex between adults in the free world is not a crime. Although I don't know all the details, I think the woman who complains that Julian did not use a condom after the act is probably wrong. She could have stopped and left.Since she went along and did it anyway, it is unreasonable to say that it was rape. ........................................................................................... Wearing a condom is a good practice of having safe sex.In Thailand, they do a very good job, in educating people about safe sex and wearing condoms.In Vatican, I'm afraid to say that the Pope is doing a very poor job, in advising people in the world not to wear a condom. Julian: please wear a condom next time, O.K. ? ........................................................................................... My opinion is that Ecuador has done the right thing, in granting Julian political asylum. U.K.'s threat to raid the Ecuador Embassy in London and arrest Julian is ridiculous. Yeah,under your U.K.laws, you have the legal obligation to extradite Julian to Sweden, but don't forget that there are international laws, too. If you actually go to the Ecuador Embassy and arrest Julian, hey, you will also lose your sovereignty in all your British embassies in other countries. The Ecuador and U.K. Governments should negotiate a way out for both sides.I'm sure that there are many good people in this world,who don't want to see Julian go to jail or get killed. ........................................................................................... Now that Ecuador has granted Julian political asylum, the story is not over yet.It has become an interesting and challenging question, on how Julian can escape safely from the Ecuador Embassy in London. Can he leave in an Ecuador embassy car and not run the risk of being stopped by the British police and get arrested ? Can he leave in an Ecuador helicopter and not run the risk of being shot down ? The best suggestion I have heard so far is that Ecuador can make Julian an Ecuador citizen, then appoint him as an Ecuador ambassador or similar position with full diplomatic immunity. There are the infinitely small as well as the infinitely large. Whether this is the absolute truth or complete truth, nobody can prove it clearly with physical evidence once and for all, because there are forever the distant unknowns and the infinite unknowables. Einstein says 2 things are certain: infinity and human stupidity, but he has doubt about the former. What is your belief or understanding ?

U.S. Foreign Policy

Regarding U.S.Foreign Policy,only Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul make some moral and practical sense to me. War with Iran, are you kidding me? Military expansion and war after war all over the world, while Uncle Sam is trillions of dollars in debt, are you serious?

Some U.S.politicians continue to make a lot of noise and threat of war and invasion against other countries. Everything is on the table, they say, which implies possible military action. Wait a minute. Shouldn't everything include peace and diplomacy as an option,too?

Unfortunately,it seems that the U.S.politicians are still using the same old Foreign Policy of Henry Kissinger, who once said "America has no friends, only interests".
